Ziff-Davis dodged the
Chapter 11
bullet. At least for now.
Some Linux Zealot
installs
Linux and Win2k. Of course, to really stress how much better Linux is, he makes sure to use the Sony THREE CD RECOVERY version of Win2k. So of course he had 8 CD swaps, 8 reboots and a 2.5 hour install. Anyone that *isn't* trying to bash Win2k knows that if you use the
real
version, it takes about 20 minutes with no CD swaps and 2 reboots. Took him 2,000 words to say "M$ sucks, dude."
The makers of
PGP
- Pretty Good Privacy, arguably the most used encryption software for emails, just got caught with their
reply buttons
down.
The
stoned chick
in the Apple commercials has gotten herself some
fans
...
KFC is
50 years old
.
Remember the Starburst commercial with the chick that opens one with her tongue?
This
goes a bit further. Not work safe.
We should all buy Pizza Hut stock. Domino's is going to charge an extra
buck
for delivery. As if the extra you pay, plus TIP isn't enough for a pizza. How bout those 4 dollar Cokes?

I have not installed Red Hat, but have installed Mandrake 8.0, 8.1 and 8.2 SEVERAL times each, and Windows 95, 98, NT4, 2000 and XP countless times. Let me say, his comparison is flawed, as noted by MyFister, by his OEM CDs. This would have reduced his reboots, the screen pop-up jumble he complains about, and the default-blank Administrator password (I've never experienced this in _any_ NT version).
For all it's worth, I find both Mandrake and Windows 2000 installations VERY similar. Mandrake reboots only once, and the updates don't require rebooting. I would estimate 4 or 5 reboots would get Windows 2000 installed and up to date, and 1 reboot would get Mandrake up to date.
I'll let you know when Mandrake releases 9.0! I'm gonna do basically the same procedure, a dual-boot install from scratch.
I may also try to review the new
OEone
front-end (if available for Mandrake by then). NewsForge took a look at it
here
.

Cool! Sounds like an interesting idea. If you try it, see if there is a way to hook into a home-based server instead of using their service... I doubt it, but I imagine someone will produce a product for free that would once word gets out...

Yeah, the code is Open Source, so running your own server for their HomeBase Anywhere product is gonna be trivial (for those who can code anyway)!

That would really kick. That would give me 280GB of storage.
