As a libertarian-ish type, I find all of the guy's points DEAD on. The modern Republican party has moved away from Honor and Duty and Freedom to Fascism and Greed and Religious Coercion.

In the past 6 years I have watched as the Republicans have become everything they hate about the Democrats. Instead of championing the bastion of Republican thought of individual freedom and responsibility, the new Republicans demand larger government, far reaching and disturbing control of personal information, and a terrifying need to make this a Christian Nation.

Damn... and O'Connor just resigned from SCOTUS.  We're so screwed.  You know Rehnquist isn't going to last out Bush's term.  Women and Gays, say goodbye to your Liberty.  <sigh>

Except that I have never said that.  I have said that drugs that impact the public are bad.  It isn't the same thing, pecker.

I'm suprised this didn't pick up front page news status.  This is going to be a big bummer.  I predict Bush nominates someone totally innappropriate for the post, and Frist executes the "nuclear option" to get rid of Senate fillibuster.  Fortunately, I also predict enough Republican Senators will pull their heads out of their asses and vote against it.

On a similar topic, did he put Bolton in as a recess appointment.  I didn't hear anything about it this weekend.
